Hello.
In Cyprus and i think in England women sometimes wouldn't say how old they are or they would say but they would take out some years. Do they do that in other countries like USA, Australia etc?
Why do you think people do that? I don't understand why because whatever they do they won't get any younger anyway. Maybe if some people on the zone want to hide their age it would be interesting to find out why.
So what do you think?
Nikos

Sorry it's me again.
I also want to ask you is it root in your country to ask somebody especialy a woman how old she is? I think in Cyprus it is a bit especialy if the woman is old. People in my age wouldn't mind but people at my parents age for example they wouldn't like it.
Look forward to get repplies.

In the Mexican culture, I know it's not polite to ask someone's age. The question is ¿Cuántos años tienes ? which actually means, "how many years do you have?" I know some women who are asked their age will be pretty offended, and others lie about it because I've gotten both reactions when I was little and didn't realize that would happen from just asking "How old are you?" I'm not sure about other cultures or most American women in general though. I personally don't mind being asked my age and am honest about it.

Same in France. It is usually not well considered to ask a wonamn her age although I don't personally mind people asking me. Seems like it's the same thing in lots of cultures in this world!

Women in England generally say there 29 plus here in England. It's just a play on how old they really are because they don't want to reveal their age.
